Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with 9-15 years of experience to lead the design and implementation of electrical systems for a variety of projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, security, and low-voltage systems. This role requires leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to mentor junior engineers while collaborating with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of electrical systems for commercial, retail, hospitality, government, healthcare, and education projects.
- Conduct power distribution system design, lighting calculations, short circuit analysis, coordination studies, and arc flash analysis.
- Develop construction documents, drawings, and specifications using AutoCAD, Revit, and other design tools.
- Ensure designs comply with NEC, NFPA, IBC, IECC, and other relevant building codes and standards.
- Coordinate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other disciplines to develop integrated building system designs.
- Perform site visits, field inspections, and construction administration to ensure adherence to design specifications.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
- Engage in value engineering and cost estimation to optimize design efficiency.
- Stay up to date on emerging technologies, sustainable design practices, and industry trends, including renewable energy and smart building systems.
- Support business development efforts by assisting in proposal writing, project budgeting, and client presentations.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 9-15 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on building systems design.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Expertise in power distribution, lighting, emergency power, fire alarm, security, and low-voltage systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, SKM PowerTools, ETAP, and lighting calculation software.
- In-depth knowledge of national and local electrical codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, IBC, IECC, ASHRAE, etc.).
- Strong problem-solving and project management skills, with the ability to lead projects from concept to completion.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with clients and internal teams.
- Experience with LEED certification and sustainable design practices is a plus.
