Qualifications

  • Three to five years of experience in outside sales, specifically selling engineered "process controls" equipment, solution selling, or technical products
  • Background in the valve, actuator, flow controls, or related industries; prior relevant experience, such as inside sales and field service, is acceptable
  • Experience managing Manufacturers Representatives or a Direct Sales Territory
  • Training in strategic sales processes (e.g., SPIN, Miller Heiman)
  • Experience in the following markets is considered a plus: power, pipeline, steel, petrochemical, mining, or Municipal water
  • Proven track record of doing business with (selling/relationship building) major/key accounts in the region
  • Above-average organizational and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Fluent in English (verbal & written)
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to lead training sessions
  • A self-starter, able to operate independently within the assigned markets and territory
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM Software
  • Valid driver's license
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%
  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods
  • Must be able to fly on airplanes
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs

Responsibilities

  • Manage sales activities for the region, selling directly to accounts and supporting the Channel Partner Network in the assigned territory to ensure revenue targets are met
  • Establish relationships with key accounts to communicate the value of our solutions and contribute to their business goals
  • Facilitate product training and demonstrations for customers
  • Collaborate with the Regional Sales Manager to identify targets and strategic growth opportunities for the territory
  • Conduct sales calls, customer visits, and presentations
  • Actively pursue and support key industry initiatives and applications
  • Work with the Channel Partner Network to support service-related activities and start-ups with Representatives/End users
  • Support marketing initiatives, such as identifying new target applications, creating white papers, ROIs, and marketing/sales literature, and participating in trade shows
  • Collaborate with the inside sales team on quotation and project pursuits
