Fire Protection Engineer
We specialize in investigating and solving our clients' problems, particularly in renovating MEP/FP systems. Our problem-solving skills are highly regarded, with 95% of clients willing to refer us. Located in the Mid-Atlantic Region, our office offers opportunities to work on fascinating projects and see history from the inside out. This position reports to the Associate/Senior Fire Protection Engineer leading the fire protection team.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, with a preference for Fire Protection.
- 4 to 9 years of experience in building code and life safety evaluations, as well as fire alarm and fire suppression design.
- Familiarity with sprinkler layouts and hydraulic calculations using Hydracalc or similar design software is a plus.
- Experience in creating construction documents and providing follow-up construction services. This role involves conducting field surveys, preparing code analyses, calculations, equipment selections, and specifications.
- Prior experience with field flow tests is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Skilled in using either AutoCAD or Revit.
- Excellent planning and organizational abilities.
- Capability to perform day-long field surveys both outdoors and indoors in various conditions, including walking up to 10-20k steps a day, climbing ladders, kneeling, squatting, and bending.
- Ability to gain site access at client locations.
- Willingness to travel up to 24 nights per year, in addition to day-long field surveys.
