Job Overview
My client is seeking a Senior Structural Restoration Engineer to join the team in New York City. In this role, you will lead high-profile restoration projects, using your expertise in structural engineering to solve complex challenges and ensure the long-term integrity of historically important buildings. If you have extensive experience in structural restoration and are passionate about contributing to impactful and rewarding projects, we would love to have you on board.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, assessment, and execution of structural restoration projects from start to finish.

  • Conduct in-depth structural condition assessments to identify issues and develop effective, sustainable repair solutions.

  • Collaborate closely with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.

  • Manage multiple projects, balancing client needs, project timelines, and budgets effectively.

  • Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and professional growth.

  • Produce and review technical reports, calculations, and design documents, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

  • Ensure all projects comply with safety regulations, building codes, and industry best practices.

  • Cultivate strong client relationships and ensure their needs are met with the utmost professionalism and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in New York State.

  • At least 8-10 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on restoration, preservation, or rehabilitation.

  • Expertise in working with a variety of structural materials, including steel, concrete, masonry, and wood.

  • Proven experience in condition assessments, designing repairs, and solving complex engineering challenges.

  • Strong understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.

  • Project management experience, including the ability to balance competing priorities and maintain client satisfaction.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

  • Proficiency in structural engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SAP2000, RISA).

  • Familiarity with New York City's unique building codes and regulatory environment is a plus.
