Senior Water Resources Engineer - Stream Restoration
Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Stream Restoration Engineer to join our dynamic team. This position offers the flexibility of remote work with a requirement for site visits in Maryland up to three times per month. As a Senior Engineer, you will lead design efforts, manage restoration projects, and play a key role in mentoring and training a team of junior engineers. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of stream restoration projects in Maryland, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and client specifications.
- Conduct wetland delineations and provide guidance on the integration of wetlands into stream restoration projects.
- Oversee project planning, development, and execution from concept through to completion.
- Provide technical expertise in stream restoration techniques, hydraulic analysis, erosion control, and wetland management.
- Train, mentor, and manage junior engineers to develop their skills and contribute to project success.
- Collaborate with project managers, regulatory agencies, and clients to ensure projects meet deadlines, budgets, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform site assessments, monitoring, and ensure best practices in ecological restoration.
- Attend and participate in site visits in Maryland up to three times per month.
Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience in stream restoration, civil, environmental, or related engineering fields.
- Proven expertise in stream design, erosion control, hydraulic analysis, restoration practices, and wetland delineations.
- Strong leadership and mentorship skills with experience managing or training junior engineers.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Maryland is required, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently while maintaining a high standard of quality.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering software, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or other design tools.
