Position Overview: The company is seeking a highly motivated Building Envelope Consultant to join their team in the Minneapolis, MN office. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing design and detailing services for various building envelope systems, including roofs, walls, windows, and waterproofing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop new architectural details and remedial details for building envelope systems.
- Conduct field verification of existing conditions to develop construction documents.
- Collaborate with clients and consulting staff to ensure project success.
- Read and understand architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing drawings and technical specifications.
- Work outdoors on building envelopes, including roofs, walls, and windows, performing physical activities such as climbing stairs and ladders, carrying tools, and working at heights with safety equipment.
- Communicate effectively and work both independently and within a team environment.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of building envelope systems, including roofing, wall systems, windows, and waterproofing.
- Understanding of construction practices and materials, including sealants, flashings, thermal insulation, and air/water/vapor barrier materials.
- Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, Bluebeam, and AutoCAD.
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to pass background checks for access to secure facilities.
- Periodic travel may be required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Licensed Architect or Engineer (or working toward licensure).
- Registration as a Registered Roof Consultant (RRC) with IIBEC (or working toward registration).
- Experience with Revit and wall systems.
Compensation: Compensation commensurate with experience. Company benefits for a full-time position include 401k.
