Acoustic Consutant - New Jersey
We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Acoustic Consultant to join a leading acoustical consulting firm with over 70 years of expertise in the industry. This is a full-time, in-office position based in New Jersey, ideal for a mid-level consultant looking to deepen their technical capabilities while working alongside INCE Board Certified and PE-licensed professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct field measurements of sound and vibration in environmental, industrial, and building settings
Analyze and interpret acoustic data using industry-standard tools and software (e.g., CadnaA, EASE, SoundPLAN, etc.)
Prepare written reports and presentations for clients, summarizing findings and recommendations
Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and regulatory agencies to develop acoustic solutions
Stay current with noise regulations and standards at the local, state, and federal level (NJDEP, NYCDEP, HUD, EPA, etc.)
Assist in modeling, prediction, and mitigation design for noise and vibration control
Support senior consultants in business development and proposal preparation
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Acoustics, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Science, Physics, or a related field
3-5 years of experience in acoustical consulting or a closely related field
Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with acoustic modeling software and measurement tools
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and project management skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently when needed
Willingness to be based in-office daily in New Jersey
