Job Summary:

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will design mechanical systems for new facilities, additions, and renovations. This role involves technical leadership in creating construction drawings, specifications, and master planning. You will collaborate with clients, project teams, code officials, and contractors to address mechanical issues. Our clients include K-12 Education, Higher Education, Commercial, Health Care, Science and Technology, and municipal and institutional facilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Design HVAC systems based on project scope and client RFPs
  • Perform engineering design, evaluation, and planning of mechanical systems
  • Conduct load/energy calculations using software like Trace 700 and IES
  • Survey and document existing HVAC systems
  • Develop system design calculations and select equipment
  • Write and edit project specifications
  • Prepare design documents, reports, and studies
  • Ensure code compliance
  • Coordinate with other disciplines
  • Provide construction administration services
  • Perform QA/QC of design work
  • Guide junior engineers
  • Lead project teams and serve as the primary client contact
  • Assist in procuring new work and developing client relations

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • LEED certification/experience
  • Minimum of 8 years of design experience
  • Knowledge of HVAC system design and relevant codes and standards

Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent work ethic and attitude
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to lead and work in a team
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Office
