Senior Director of Account Management
Overview
We are working with a mission-driven clean energy company that is actively seeking a Senior Director or Vice President of Account Management, reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer. This individual will lead the Account Management team and serve as the primary point of contact for a large and growing portfolio of B2B Community Solar clients.
This role is ideal for a candidate with strong operational leadership skills, deep familiarity with Community Solar markets, and a demonstrated ability to manage client satisfaction across multiple portfolios. The level/title (Senior Director or VP) will depend on the candidate's experience, strategic thinking, and prior results managing high-impact portfolios and client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Ownership: Lead strategic relationships across 50+ Community Solar portfolios, ensuring clients receive best-in-class service and results
Satisfaction & Retention: Drive Net Promoter Score (NPS) goals, identify and solve client pain points, and enhance portfolio performance to ensure long-term client retention
Contract Delivery: Oversee the delivery of all contractual obligations including utilization, fill rates, accurate reporting, and customer experience metrics
Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with internal teams (Legal, Billing, Tech, Finance, Sales, and Customer Ops) to ensure effective coordination and service delivery
Escalation Point of Contact: Act as the senior point of contact for client escalations and strategically resolve issues that impact payments, performance, or satisfaction
Client Onboarding: Ensure all new clients and projects follow an effective and standardized onboarding process
Strategic Presence: Serve as a highly visible "Front of the House" leader, frequently participating in client meetings and managing high-priority communications
Team Leadership: Mentor Account Executives and Analysts, supporting their growth and ensuring consistent delivery across portfolios
Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs): Lead and maintain regular QBRs to track performance and demonstrate value delivery to clients
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to simplify and streamline internal processes to enhance service delivery and scalability
Renegotiations & Expansion: Partner with Business Development and Leadership to support client contract renegotiations and expansion discussions
What You Bring
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field (Master's preferred)
3+ years of leadership experience in Community Solar or Clean Energy
4+ years in B2B Account Management or Client Services overseeing at least 10 portfolios
In-depth understanding of Community Solar program rules and regional policy nuances
Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with a knack for effective client communication
Excellent time management, organization, and presentation skills
Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive results in a high-growth, fast-paced environment
Alignment with the company's values and mission to accelerate the clean energy transition
