Position Overview: This firm is looking for a Senior Plan Check Engineer to join the Ventura office. This role involves supervising and reviewing plans for residential, commercial, and industrial developments to ensure compliance with various codes and standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in plan checking, strong knowledge of regulations and standards ion the State of California, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan Review: Examine and evaluate building plans, drawings, and specifications for compliance with building, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, energy, Calgreen codes, local ordinances, and State and Federal laws.
- Code Compliance: Provide expert code interpretation and suggest alternate compliance methods.
- Reporting: Prepare and present detailed reports on plan review findings and code interpretations.
- Mentorship: Mentor and train junior plans examiners and plan check engineers.
- Representation: Represent the department at internal and external meetings, collaborating with architects, engineers, and developers.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 7 years of industry experience, including at least 3 years in plan checking.
- Certification: Current PE California License is preferred; ICC Plans Examiner Certification and other relevant certifications are highly desired.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution (or similar)
