Mechanical Engineer - Mission Critical

Job Summary: Design and manage building automation and controls for medium to large projects, from initial schematics to construction completion.
Roles and Responsibilites:
- Develop automation and control systems for HVAC and plumbing.
- Implement energy-saving measures.
- Integrate mechanical systems with low voltage and electrical systems.
- Lead and guide the mechanical engineering support team.
- Create and oversee work plans and time estimates.
- Research and document relevant codes, standards, and technologies.
- Contribute to the Mechanical Basis of Design Journal throughout the project.
- Conduct research on materials and products.
- Attend and participate in project meetings.
- Collaborate with sector and core team leaders.
- Address client inquiries within one business day.
- Review and interpret documents and submittals during bidding and construction.
- Sign and seal completed work.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Non-Project-Related Duties:
- Develop documentation standards for building control systems.
- Mentor and train engineers and designers.
- Provide performance feedback to supervisors.
- Identify and implement quality and service improvements.
- Participate in internal training and professional organizations.
- Recognize and commend staff for exceptional work.
Skills, Knowledge, Education, and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree required; licensure preferred.
- Proficient in Revit.
- Knowledge of ASHRAE Guidelines 13 & 36.
- Familiar with open and proprietary Building Automation Systems (e.g., Tridium).
- LEED Accreditation preferred.
- Minimum six years' experience in the A/E industry.
- Extensive knowledge of professional services from schematic design to project close-out.
- Strong coordination skills across design disciplines.
- Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to motivate and delegate to support staff.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, enthusiastic, and flexible.
- Ability to work well under deadlines.
