Position Overview:
We are looking for a Consulting Engineer to join our new 17,000 sq. ft. High Voltage Laboratory (HVL). This role involves testing a range of electrical equipment, including transformers, circuit breakers, cables, and insulators, with an emphasis on Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of equipment failures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain high voltage test systems (3,200kV impulse generator, 1,500kV AC/DC).
  • Design and oversee fabrication of support structures for equipment testing.
  • Coordinate the transportation and setup of test equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and collaborate with engineering teams.
  • Provide expert technical consultation and manage multiple tasks.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 10+ years of relevant engineering or high voltage experience.
  • Expertise in HV substation equipment testing, maintenance, and RCA.
  • Proficiency in IEEE, IEC, CIGRE, and NETA standards.
  • Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills.
  • Advanced problem-solving ability and experience with software tools like Matlab and Excel.

Preferred Skills:

  • ISO 17025 accreditation knowledge.
  • Business/financial acumen and experience managing contracts.
  • Capability to work at heights (up to 50 feet).

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (ABET accredited) or equivalent.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Office and outdoor work, with potential exposure to energized wires, noise, and extreme temperatures.
  • Travel up to 25%.

You will lead high voltage testing of electrical equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers, and cables, and support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for failed equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior or Staff Engineer to support our new 17,000 sq. ft. High Voltage Laboratory (HVL). You will play a key role in testing electrical equipment, ensuring safe operation, and contributing to the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of transmission and distribution equipment failures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in all HVL activities, developing policies and test plans.
  • Guide technical staff in setting up test circuits and verifying electrical connections.
  • Ensure compliance with national and international standards and safety regulations.
  • Support the development of calibration and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Contribute to ISO 17025 accreditation efforts.
  • Oversee inventory, procurement of spare parts, and test report preparation.
  • Participate in software system operations, calibrations, and routine maintenance.

Required Experience:

  • Senior Engineer: 5+ years of relevant engineering or high voltage experience.
  • Staff Engineer: 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and multitasking skills.
  • Proficiency with computer applications and technical writing.

Preferred Skills:

  • Engineering calculations (e.g., Matlab, Excel).
  • Design skills using AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
  • Comfortable working at heights (up to 140ft with boom lifts).

  • Bachelor's in Engineering or a related field (non-equivalent degrees will not be considered).
  • ABET-accredited degree preferred or equivalent international accreditation.
