Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain accurate power system models for planning purposes.
Conduct studies including power flow, voltage stability, transient stability, and total transfer capability.
Create long-range transmission plans that meet reliability and regulatory requirements.
Analyze and model generator interconnection requests.
Deliver high-quality technical reports and present findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Collaborate with internal teams and external clients to provide expert guidance and solutions.
Qualifications
B.S. in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (required).
Minimum 3 years of experience in transmission or distribution system engineering.
Working knowledge of transmission and distribution systems, including per-unit system, transmission line parameters, transformers, protective relaying, and short-circuit analysis.
Familiarity with one or more of the following tools: PowerWorld Simulator, Siemens PSS®E, PSLF, or Aspen Oneliner.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and technical documentation.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Skills
Proficiency with the PLS-CADD suite and design of wood/steel structures.
Knowledge of AutoCAD, VBA, or Python scripting is a plus.
