Job Summary: We are looking to bring on an experienced and ambitious mechanical engineer to join our team!
Qualifications:
- Skilled in designing various HVAC systems (VAV, DOAS, VRF, Packaged RTU)
- Accredited engineering degree or equivalent experience
- 15+ years in mechanical engineering
- Preferred: Professional Engineer license in Minnesota
- Proficient with Autodesk Revit BIM software
- LEED Certification
- Proven success in business development and client relations
- Experience in supervising staff and supporting business growth
- Competent in preparing RFP responses, fee proposals, and staffing for Vertical Markets
- Active in local ASHRAE Chapters and business organizations
- Knowledgeable in financial planning (budgets, leases, events)
- Capable of managing multiple vertical markets and initiatives simultaneously
Responsibilities:
- Provide outstanding client service and high-quality mechanical designs
- Proficient in software: Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Outlook, Microsoft Office
- Strong technical expertise and work ethic in mechanical engineering
- Lead HVAC design projects from concept to construction administration
- Mentor and guide a team to produce excellent construction documents
- Develop project specifications and proposals
- Handle construction administration tasks (submittal review, field inspections, RFIs, change requests)
- Apply Plumbing and Mechanical Building Codes effectively
- Understand and develop digital temperature control systems and strategies
- Ensure high-quality work, profitability, and staff engagement
- Represent the office to potential clients and organizations
- Support local initiatives aligned with firm's goals (sustainability, research, social responsibility, diversity)
- Manage staffing and business engagement at local and regional levels
- Mentor team members and manage employee relations
- Communicate firm's goals to potential clients and organizations
- Lead New Business Development activities
- Prepare RFP responses, fee proposals, and staffing with Vertical Market Leaders
- Oversee office financial plans and budgets (leases, supplies, events, meetings, marketing, communications)
- Model firm's values and culture internally and within the community
