The Mechanical Engineer will:

  • Conduct engineering calculations and create detailed mechanical engineering drawings for HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection system focusing on the firm's key project sectors.
  • Operate under the guidance of a Project Manager and senior technical oversight.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the development of project objectives, goals, and documentation policies.
  • Preparing engineering design loads and calculations, mechanical system layouts (HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection), and design documentation for all project phases.
  • Coordinating design efforts between engineering disciplines and the architecture team, performing engineering calculations, and overseeing the production of drawings.
  • Conducting energy analysis and implementing high-performance design techniques.
  • Compiling detailed engineering reports and narratives.
  • Performing on-site condition surveys.
  • Reviewing contractor submittals and RFIs, and providing field observations throughout the construction administration process.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architectural or Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical design of HVAC and plumbing systems for complex projects.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit software

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office software.
  • Experience in energy modeling and developing related reports/presentations.
  • Familiarity with energy modeling software
  • PE Licensed preferred, EIT required
  • LEED Accredited Professional
  • Experience and interest in sustainable and high-performance building design
