Salary: $60,000-$90,000
About the Firm: My client is a San Diego-based MEP engineering firm specializing in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing system design for a wide range of commercial, educational, healthcare, and public projects. With a focus on responsiveness, collaboration, and technical excellence, they deliver integrated engineering solutions that balance innovation with practicality. They have a commitment to high-quality documentation, energy-efficient systems, and proactive coordination with architects, contractors, and developers.
Responsibilities:
Support the design and documentation of technology systems including structured cabling, fiber infrastructure, telecom rooms, security, audio-visual, and IT systems
Create accurate and buildable construction documents using Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM tools
Coordinate with MEP teams to ensure integrated and conflict-free designs
Assist in site surveys, system layouts, and equipment specifications
Support QA/QC processes and assist during construction administration phases
Stay current on applicable codes, standards, and industry trends, particularly in mission-critical and data center environments
Qualifications
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Architecture, or a related field
2+ years of experience in low-voltage or IT infrastructure design, preferably for critical facilities or complex building systems
Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office; experience with Bluebeam or Navisworks is a plus
Familiarity with BICSI standards, EIA/TIA codes, and telecommunications room design best practices
Excellent organizational, documentation, and communication skills
RCDD, CTS, or other technology-related certifications are a strong plus
