Business Development Manager
Location: Minneapolis, MN
Responsibilities:
- Develop new business opportunities targeting industrial controls, electrical and power engineering, mechanical engineering, and system fabrication.
- Grow control system integration services, focusing on large process clients and DCS or PAC systems, including equipment, PLC/HMI/SCADA applications, I&C field installation services, and software.
- Source new contacts, initiate and maintain relationships with industrial clients.
- Establish new client accounts and maintain industry contacts for increased sales and repeat business.
- Obtain leads from industry conferences, channel relationships, market reports, vendors, and sales personnel.
- Manage and report on sales pipeline using CRM tools, scheduling team tasks and follow-ups.
- Leverage technical knowledge of products to support client project understanding and position the team. Preferred knowledge of Rockwell, Siemens, Emerson, Schneider, ABB, and GE products.
- Develop and present proposals on engineering services and integrated systems.
- Monitor regional industry to develop sales plans and forecasts.
- Act as liaison between customers, business unit, project management, and engineers.
- Support engineers and project managers with new proposals, project tasks, and client issues.
- Review commercial terms with management, coordinate resources with operations.
- Work with local operation managers on business plans, personnel recruitment, budget development, and control.
- Review customer orders and hand off contracts to operations to ensure customer satisfaction, schedule, and budget adherence.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering preferred. Equivalent industry experience may be substituted.
- 10 years of industry experience with a successful track record in control systems solutions and/or integration sales.
- Knowledge of hardware and software application and design, with experience in an A/E firm, Systems Integrator, or Engineering firm preferred.
- Established local contacts and a proven plan for market penetration, expansion, and diversification.
- Ability to travel and meet physical demands such as seeing, hearing, clear speech, and driving.
Working Environment:
- Standard office environment with frequent use of personal computer, facsimile, and copy machines.
Salary: $130,000 to $180,000 base per year plus commission, depending on qualifications.
