Building Envelope Consultant
We have a current opportunity for a Building Envelope Consultant on a permanent basis. The position will be based in Portland. For further information about this position please apply.
In-depth expertise in building envelope systems, including roofing, cladding, fenestration, air/water barriers, and waterproofing
Advanced ability to interpret and analyze architectural, structural, and building envelope drawings and specifications
Proven experience conducting detailed building envelope condition assessments, forensic investigations, and site inspections
Strong understanding of building science principles, moisture management, and thermal performance
Proficient in preparing technical reports, repair recommendations, and specifications
Familiarity with relevant building codes, standards, and testing procedures (e.g., ASTM, AAMA, IBC, NFPA)
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and envelope analysis tools (e.g., WUFI, THERM)
Effective communication and interpersonal skills for client coordination and project collaboration
Strong project management, budgeting, and time management skills
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Building Science, or a related discipline
Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in building envelope consulting or a closely related field
Professional certification or licensure strongly preferred (e.g., P.Eng, RRC, RRO, LEED AP)
Experience managing multiple projects and leading technical teams
Knowledge of sustainability practices and energy-efficient design is an asset
