Manager, Renewable Electrical Engineering
A leading power and renewable engineering firm is looking for an Electrical Engineering Manager to support their dynamic team! They focus on PV, BESS, EV, and Microgrid projects across the US. This role would report to the VP of Renewable Energy Resources. Additionally, you will have 6+ direct reports and oversee technical aspects of the projects. This role can be based out of St.Paul, MN or Madison, WI.
Responsibilities:
Lead engineering design and execution of solar PV, energy storage, microgrids, and EV infrastructure projects; manage construction specs, material selection, and project delivery.
Utilize and oversee power system modeling, relay programming, AutoCAD, and solar PV software (e.g., PSCAD, ETAP, PVSYST) to support complex power system studies and analyses.
Drive development of internal engineering standards, processes, and toolsets while contributing innovative solutions to expand service offerings.
Mentor and grow a high-performing engineering team; collaborate with HR to implement career development plans and professional training.
Embody the company's core values while leveraging deep renewable energy sector knowledge and a strong industry network.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems focus); PE license (or ability to obtain); NABCEP certification preferred; Master's degree a plus.
7+ years in electrical engineering, with 5+ years in renewable energy; experience in commercial & industrial projects is a plus.
Skilled in AutoCAD, PVsyst, SKM, ETAP, SEL Relays; knowledgeable in NEC, NESC, IEEE, ANSI, and relevant building/fire codes.
Strong project management, written/verbal communication, and interpersonal skills; capable of leading teams and writing technical documents.
Innovative, process-improvement oriented, continuous learner; open to occasional travel (up to 5%) for site visits and meetings.
