Cable T&I Lead

A leading offshore wind developer is looking for a Subsea Cables Transport & Installation (T&I) Lead to join its team in Taipei, Taiwan. This role involves overseeing the planning, procurement, and execution of the subsea cable installation scope, ensuring both technical and commercial success. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Subsea Cables Package Manager in project execution, taking ownership of design, procurement, and management of subsea cables T&I scope.
  • Lead contractor selection, tendering, negotiation, and contract finalization for subsea cable installation.
  • Assess contractor proposals to ensure compliance with technical, quality, and budgetary requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with subsea cable installation, working closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Oversee project schedules and interface management to ensure smooth execution.
  • Coordinate with permitting teams to secure necessary approvals from local authorities.
  • Manage relationships with offshore installation contractors, vessel suppliers, and Marine Warranty Surveyors (MWS).
  • Ensure compliance with HSE, QA/QC, and industry best practices throughout the project.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Engineering degree (bachelor's or master's) in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in subsea cable installation, EPCI projects, or large-scale infrastructure.
  • Previous experience as a T&I Lead or Manager in offshore wind projects; Taiwan market experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of contract management, ideally with exposure to BIMCO, FIDIC, or LOGIC contracts.
  • Expertise in lifting and marine operations standards.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within Taiwan and work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
