The Opportunity

We are searching for a visionary leader to elevate and expand the firm's Technical Building Envelope & Structural Division. You'll own full P&L and technical responsibility, guiding multidisciplinary project teams, mentoring emerging talent, and spearheading strategic growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership

    • Serve as Engineer of Record or Qualified Exterior Wall Inspector (QEWI) / Qualified Parking Structure Inspector (QPSI) on NYC projects.

    • Direct forensic investigations, façade restoration, and structural stabilization scopes.

    • Oversee envelope design reviews, thermal/moisture analyses, and material selection.

  • Team Management

    • Manage and inspire a team of 6 architects/engineers; implement career‑development plans and robust QA/QC processes.

    • Build resource forecasts and staff plans aligned with project pipeline.

  • Project Delivery

    • Set technical strategy, schedules, and budgets; ensure project deliverables meet or exceed client and DOB standards.

    • Coordinate with internal MEP, sustainability, and construction‑admin teams to ensure seamless project execution.

  • Business Development

    • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, including developers, owners, and architects.

    • Lead proposals, fee negotiations, and thought‑leadership events, aiming for 20% year-over-year divisional revenue growth.

  • Practice Growth

    • Evaluate emerging façade systems, structural materials, and NYC/local ordinance changes; translate insights into service offerings.

    • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives and foster a safety‑first culture.


Requirements

  • Licensure: Active QEWI and QPSI certifications

  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in façade restoration, including hands-on technical expertise and project leadership.

  • Leadership: Proven experience managing and directing a team of engineers/architects.

  • Business Development: Strong background in client relationship management, proposal writing, and leading business development efforts to drive growth.

  • Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of building envelopes, façade systems, and structural stabilization techniques.
