Site/Civil Office Lead
Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Site/Civil Office Lead to oversee and grow our Chicago office's civil engineering practice. This leadership role combines project management, technical expertise, team development, and client relationship management. The ideal candidate is a licensed professional engineer with a strong background in site/civil design and a passion for leading high-performing teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the site/civil engineering team in the Chicago office.
- Oversee site development projects including grading, drainage, utilities, stormwater management, and roadway design.
- Serve as project manager on key client projects, ensuring quality, timeliness, and budget control.
- Mentor and develop junior staff; support hiring and training initiatives.
- Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships; assist in business development and proposal efforts.
- Collaborate with other discipline leads and regional offices to support integrated project delivery.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and company quality standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Master's preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Illinois
- 10+ years of progressive experience in civil/site development, including leadership and project management roles.
- Strong knowledge of Chicago-area permitting and regulatory processes.
- Excellent communication, team leadership, and client management skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant design tools.
Preferred:
- Experience with land development, transportation, or municipal infrastructure.
- Existing client relationships within the Chicago region.
- Prior experience growing and managing a technical office or team.
