Our Houston-based team is growing, and we are seeking an experienced and dedicated Water Treatment Plant Superintendent to oversee the construction and commissioning of a critical water treatment facility in the region.
Job Description:
As the Water Treatment Plant Superintendent, you will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision, coordination, and management of all construction activities on-site. You will work closely with engineers, project managers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure that the project is completed safely, on time, and within budget. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in water treatment plant construction and the ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and supervise the construction of a water treatment plant from start to finish, ensuring that work is completed according to design specifications, regulatory standards, and safety protocols.
- Manage all construction activities, including earthwork, concrete, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, ensuring that quality control procedures are followed.
- Coordinate and direct subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site personnel, ensuring that all work is carried out efficiently and to a high standard.
- Develop and manage the construction schedule, ensuring that milestones are met and that the project remains on track for timely completion.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and environmental laws, with a focus on maintaining a zero-incident workplace.
- Monitor project costs and resources to ensure that the project stays within budget.
- Conduct regular site inspections and report on progress to upper management, identifying any potential issues and recommending solutions.
- Communicate effectively with clients, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure all project requirements and concerns are addressed.
- Prepare and maintain daily logs, progress reports, and other project documentation.
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience as a Superintendent in water treatment plant or heavy industrial construction projects.
- In-depth knowledge of water treatment processes, systems, and construction methods.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Proficiency in construction management software and tools.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
