Job Description:
We are seeking a seasoned Water/Wastewater Project Manager to lead and manage complex projects focused on water and wastewater systems, particularly within industrial (inside-the-fence) environments. This is a remote position, with a preference for candidates based in Iowa, offering the opportunity to work with a leading engineering firm while managing projects nationwide.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Manage all phases of water and wastewater infrastructure projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and quality control.
- Client Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, serving as the primary point of contact to ensure their needs and expectations are met.
- Technical Oversight: Provide technical guidance and direction for engineering teams on water/wastewater treatment processes, pipeline design, pump stations, and other related systems.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all project designs and implementations comply with federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations.
- Budget & Resource Management: Prepare project budgets, track expenses, and manage resources to deliver projects within the allocated budget and timeline.
- Team Collaboration: Lead and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, contractors, and stakeholders, to ensure smooth project execution.
- Proposal & Contract Development: Prepare project proposals, contracts, and bid documents, and negotiate terms with clients.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to address them proactively.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices, particularly those relevant to water/wastewater systems within industrial contexts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 15+ years of experience in water/wastewater project management, with a focus on inside-the-fence industrial environments.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is mandatory.
- Proven experience in leading large-scale water/wastewater projects.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices for water and wastewater treatment systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and client management skills.
- Ability to work remotely while managing project teams and deliverables effectively.
