Job Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced Professional Engineer (PE) specializing in water and wastewater engineering with a demonstrated track record of success. The Senior Water/Wastewater PE will lead and manage projects from conception through completion, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, client satisfaction, and technical excellence. Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including treatment plants, distribution systems, collection systems, and pumping stations.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance throughout all project phases, including planning, feasibility studies, design, construction, and commissioning.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and industry standards, including environmental regulations, health and safety standards, and engineering best practices.
- Conduct engineering analyses, simulations, and modeling to optimize system performance, efficiency, and reliability.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including engineers, designers, project managers, and clients, to achieve project objectives and deliver high-quality solutions.
- Review and approve engineering designs, drawings, specifications, and reports prepared by junior staff or external consultants.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, resources, and deliverables to meet client expectations and project milestones.
- Provide technical support during construction, including responding to RFIs, conducting site visits, and resolving design issues.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers, providing guidance on technical matters, project management, and professional development.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies, trends, and innovations in water and wastewater engineering, and apply knowledge to improve project outcomes and methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the applicable state(s). NCEES record preferred.
- 10-15 years of progressive experience in water and wastewater engineering, including design, analysis, and project management.
- Demonstrated expertise in water treatment, wastewater treatment, hydraulic modeling, and infrastructure design.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, permitting processes, and industry standards related to water and wastewater systems.
- Proficiency in engineering software and tools, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, WaterCAD, EPA SWMM, and GIS.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
- Proven leadership abilities, with experience leading project teams, mentoring staff, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
