Job Title: Water Resources Engineer (PE)
Location: Multiple Offices Across Iowa
Salary Range: $95,000 - $125,000
Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Water Resources Engineer with a Professional Engineer (PE) license to join our team across multiple offices in Iowa. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in hydrology, hydraulics, and stormwater management, with the ability to lead and manage water resources projects.
Responsibilities:
Project Management:
- Lead and manage water resources projects, including floodplain studies, stormwater management systems, and watershed planning.
- Develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
- Oversee the design and analysis of stormwater infrastructure, flood control measures, and drainage systems.
Technical Expertise:
- Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, including HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and other relevant software.
- Design stormwater management systems, flood mitigation structures, and other water resources infrastructure.
- Ensure all designs comply with local, state, and federal environmental and water regulations.
Client and Stakeholder Relations:
- Work closely with public agencies, municipalities, and private clients to ensure project success.
- Prepare technical reports, project proposals, and engineering plans for presentation to clients and regulatory agencies.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with clients and pursue opportunities for new business.
Team Leadership:
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and technical staff.
- Provide technical oversight and quality control for project deliverables.
Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
Licensure:
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
Experience:
- 6-10+ years of experience in water resources engineering, hydrology, and stormwater management.
- Proven track record of managing water resources projects, including floodplain management and stormwater design.
Skills:
- Proficiency in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software (HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM).
- Strong understanding of water regulations and permitting processes.
- Excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting technical data to clients and regulatory agencies.
