Job Opportunity: Water Resources Engineer
Location: Baltimore, MD
Our client, a well-established engineering firm, is seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer to join their team in the Baltimore, MD area. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional with 5-15 years of experience to take the lead on water resources projects, manage a talented team, and work with a diverse range of public sector clients. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in H&H design, E&S design, stormwater management design, and drainage design, with a focus on the Maryland region. This is a growth position with a fast track to department lead.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and complete complex hydrologic and hydraulic analyses
- Design water resources improvements, including stream restoration, dam upgrades, and stormwater management retrofits
- Prepare and obtain approvals for construction documents
- Handle client communications and manage relationships
- Oversee construction observation and documentation efforts
- Manage engineering/CAD technicians, surveyors, and sub-consultants
- Oversee the preparation of construction documents
Required Skills and Experience:
- Professional engineer's license in the state of Maryland (or the ability to obtain a Maryland license within three (3) months of hire)
- 5-15 years of water resources experience, with demonstrated expertise in the full project lifecycle including feasibility, design, permitting, and construction management
- Strong knowledge of water resources project execution, including hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, stormwater management, and environmental regulations
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Familiarity with permitting processes in Montgomery, Prince George's, and Howard Counties, as well as with Maryland State Highway Administration and the Maryland Department of the Environment
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Experience with Microsoft Project and ArcGIS
