A leading mechanical contractor based in New York, NY is seeking an accomplished Vice President of Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) to drive the company's digital construction strategy and execution. This senior leadership role will oversee all VDC operations, ensuring the successful integration of mechanical systems modeling, coordination, and prefabrication workflows across all projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mechanical construction, VDC management, and digital transformation, with a strong ability to lead teams, optimize processes, and collaborate with executive leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a company-wide VDC strategy, aligning with business objectives and market trends.
Executive Oversight: Lead VDC initiatives across all projects, ensuring alignment with preconstruction, engineering, and field execution teams.
Team Development: Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing VDC team, fostering innovation and professional growth.
Technology Advancement: Drive the adoption and integration of cutting-edge VDC technologies, including Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and fabrication software.
Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, mechanical engineers, and field leadership to optimize coordination and execution.

Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
15+ years of experience in VDC/BIM, with a strong focus on mechanical systems.
Proven leadership experience at the director or executive level in a mechanical contracting or construction firm.
Advanced proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, fabrication software, and digital workflows.
Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems, MEP coordination, and prefabrication techniques.
Strong business acumen with the ability to drive profitability, efficiency, and innovation.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Experience with laser scanning, 4D scheduling, and reality capture is a plus.
Familiarity with industry codes, standards, and construction regulations.
