Our client is looking for an Estimator for their Utilities Division. Collaborate with a team of accomplished professionals in crafting proposals for engaging projects across the northeastern United States. This role involves preparing estimates for probable costs of materials, labor, and equipment based on contract bids, quotations, schematic drawings, and specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct labor and material take-offs.
- Attend site visits as required.
- Coordinate and assist in acquiring subcontractor quotes.
- Effectively communicate proposal schedule and status both externally and internally.
- Understand and monitor estimate progress to ensure timely completion of proposals.
- Participate in the estimate review process with internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepare project cost breakdowns.
- Coordinate the assembly of proposal turnover to operations once awarded the project, including identification of critical success factors for the project.
Skills and Experience:
- Ability to read and comprehend Requests for Proposal (RFPs), blueprints, specifications, and other documentation.
- Proficiency in MS applications (Word, Excel, Project).
- Strong analytical math skills in Algebra.
- 5 years of experience in engineering or construction.
- Post-secondary education in a technical, math, or science-related field.
