Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Construction Project Engineer to help oversee and manage underground utility projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction engineering, particularly in the underground utilities sector, and a strong understanding of the technical and logistical challenges associated with these projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all phases of underground utility construction projects, including planning, design, execution, and close-out.
- Coordinate and communicate with project teams, subcontractors, clients, and vendors to ensure project timelines and budgets are met.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and submittals.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and local ordinances.
- Assist in the preparation of project schedules, budgets, and cost estimates.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure proper implementation of project plans.
- Support the project manager in the preparation of change orders and contracts.
- Prepare reports on project progress, issues, and costs for stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems that may arise during construction.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in construction project engineering, with a focus on underground utilities (water, sewer, storm drain, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of construction practices, methods, and materials used in underground utility work
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work well under pressure.
- Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required.
