They are seeking a dynamic Lead Geo-Structural Engineer to join their Washington DC team and drive impactful projects across North America. Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform professional geotechnical engineering work including design for tunneling projects, subsurface investigations, soil foundation engineering, settlement analysis, soil erosion, lateral earth pressures, geological hazards, underground water, slope stability, and operations to determine conformance with applicable rules, standards, construction, or operating permits for commercial, industrial, building, environmental, infrastructure, and transportation projects.
- Manage tasks and mentor junior staff in geotechnical design and reporting.
- Develop construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates; prepare construction safety and phasing plans, and update infrastructure layout plans that require coordination with owners, other disciplines, sub-consultants, and clients.
- Support geotechnical investigation programs including planning, permitting, implementation, data reporting, and writing interpretative reports.
- Work as an integral member of a team on complex and multi-discipline projects.
Requirements
- MS in Geotechnical/Civil or Geological Engineering.
- PG or PE license.
- 8+ years of relevant post-education experience in engineering and geotechnical design.
- Strong analytical and technical communication skills.
- Effective self-leadership with attention to detail, results orientation, and managing multiple projects in a dynamic work environment.
- Willingness to travel for short-term field assignments.
- Good writing and communication skills and ability to interface effectively with other team members and clients.
