This role involves working on challenging tunneling and underground projects, contributing to the design, analysis, and construction of tunnels and underground structures. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and review tunnel designs, including geotechnical analysis, structural assessments, and alignment optimization.
- Perform site investigations and provide technical support during construction phases.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including geotechnical, structural, and environmental engineers.
- Prepare technical reports, design calculations, and construction documentation.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and applicable codes.
- Utilize software such as PLAXIS, FLAC, or similar tools for advanced modeling and analysis.
- Assist in the planning and execution of tunnel boring machine (TBM) operations, NATM/SEM methods, or cut-and-cover techniques.
- Monitor project progress and provide solutions to address technical challenges during construction.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Structural Engineering.
- 3+ years of experience in tunneling, underground construction, or related fields.
- Proficiency in tunneling software and design tools.
- Familiarity with tunnel construction methods (e.g., TBM, NATM, micro-tunneling).
- Strong understanding of geotechnical principles and soil-structure interaction.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or ability to obtain one is preferred.
