Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Roadway Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in roadway design and engineering, with a proven track record of managing complex projects from conception through completion. This role requires excellent technical skills, leadership abilities, and a passion for developing effective transportation solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage roadway design projects, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Prepare and review plans, specifications, and estimates for roadway projects, including horizontal and vertical alignments, grading, drainage, and pavement design.
- Conduct site assessments and environmental impact studies, coordinating with relevant stakeholders and regulatory agencies.
- Utilize advanced design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation) to develop and modify engineering plans.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and technical staff.
- Participate in public meetings and presentations to convey project plans and gather community input.
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in roadway engineering.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Indiana is required.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in roadway design and engineering.
- Proven experience managing multiple projects and leading project teams.
- Strong knowledge of transportation engineering principles, standards, and practices.
- Familiarity with relevant design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation) and analysis tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
Preferred Skills:
