Job Title: Heavy Civil Superintendent

Salary Range: $100,000 - $130,000 per year

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Superintendent to join our growing team in Florida. This role is critical for overseeing the successful execution of heavy civil construction projects, including roadways, bridges, and other large-scale infrastructure work. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a background in managing complex projects, and a passion for delivering high-quality results on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage all phases of heavy civil construction projects, from pre-construction to completion, ensuring adherence to project specifications and timelines.
- Coordinate daily activities of field personnel, including subcontractors, laborers, and equipment operators, while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution and resolve issues as they arise.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with safety regulations and company policies, ensuring that the job site remains OSHA-compliant.
- Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and drawings, ensuring proper implementation.
- Track project progress, conduct quality control inspections, and ensure that construction meets or exceeds industry standards.
- Manage material and equipment delivery schedules, ensuring all resources are available for efficient workflow.
- Track project budgets, expenditures, and timelines, ensuring the project is completed within budget.
- Maintain regular communication with clients, addressing any concerns and providing updates on project status.
- Lead and mentor field staff, promoting a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in heavy civil construction, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Proven track record managing large-scale infrastructure projects such as roads, highways, bridges, and utilities.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment used in heavy civil construction.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and drawings.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of safety standards and regulations (OSHA, DOT, etc.).
- Proficient in project management software, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high levels of organization and attention to detail.
- A valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience working with Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) projects.
- OSHA 30-Hour Certification.
