Our client, a premier Utility Engineering specialty consultant, is looking for a talented SUE Project Manager to lead and manage multiple subsurface utility engineering projects throughout Washington State. This role offers the flexibility of remote work combined with the necessity of site visits and statewide travel.
As the SUE Project Manager, you will be the primary liaison between the company and its clients, ensuring the successful execution of projects from start to finish. You will oversee both field and office staff, manage project logistics, and ensure that all deliverables meet the highest standards of quality and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of field and office staff for multiple SUE projects.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet company quality standards and client specifications.
- Develop and manage proposals, budgets, schedules, billings, and contracts.
- Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and oversee field operations.
- Troubleshoot field staff issues and manage logistics, scheduling, and tracking of deliverables.
- Prepare and review project plans, specifications, and reports.
- Sign and seal plats, field notes, and control drawings if required.
- Establish work plans and staffing requirements for multiple projects.
- Participate in business development opportunities and maintain strong client relationships.
- Develop and conduct presentations to clients and other critical stakeholders.
- Interface effectively with sub-consultants and other business relationships.
- Provide support to other operational units as needed.
- Manage and report financial status, including AR/WIP and billing cycles.
- Represent company interests in meetings and trade shows as needed.
- Perform other tasks as assigned to help accomplish the company's strategic goals.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of industry-related work experience in a professional or management capacity.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and/or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated experience in project/phase management for large-scale projects.
- Strong proficiency with tools such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, Geopak, and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly define assignments and deliverables to team members.
- Ability to oversee, mentor, and motivate a project team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues on the fly.
- Ability to meet or exceed aggressive deadlines while maintaining teamwork and collaboration with others.
- WA PE (Professional Engineer) or PLS (Professional Land Surveyor) licensure is preferred but not required.
