Position Overview: As the Substation Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of substation projects. You will lead a team of skilled engineers, ensuring the successful execution of projects from conception to completion. This position requires a strong background in substation engineering, project management, and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the substation engineering team in the successful execution of projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Oversee the design and development of substation projects, including layout, equipment selection, and system specifications.
- Build, develop, and mentor a high-performing team of substation engineers. Provide guidance and support to enhance team skills and capabilities.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineering, construction, and regulatory compliance teams, to ensure seamless project integration.
- Implement and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure the highest standards in substation design and engineering.
- Stay informed about industry regulations and ensure that substation projects comply with all relevant codes and standards.
- Collaborate with the finance department to manage project budgets, control costs, and optimize resource utilization.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with substation projects, developing proactive strategies for risk prevention and resolution.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience in substation engineering with a minimum of 8 years in a leadership role.
- Strong project management skills with a successful track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- In-depth knowledge of substation design principles, equipment, and industry standards.
- Familiarity with relevant software tools and technologies used in substation engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desirable.
