Position: Structural Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Develop schematic designs, design development, and construction documents.
- Provide construction administration services.
- Work on a variety of projects, including residential and commercial structures.
- Collaborate with clients and team members to deliver high-quality structural solutions.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
- Perform structural analysis and calculations to support design decisions.
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation for project milestones.
- Stay updated with industry trends, codes, and regulations to ensure best practices are followed.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on technical aspects of projects.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural/Mechanical Engineering and/or Master's Degree in Structural Engineering.
- Experience: 2+ years of experience working with a structural design firm.
- Licensing: A California Civil PE license is required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Windows OS, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Suite. Experience with engineering analysis software (RISA and/or ETABs), Enercalc, AutoCAD, and/or Revit.
- Design Expertise: Experience with timber, reinforced concrete, masonry, and steel design.
- Project Phases: Understanding of all design phases (SD, DD, PD, CD, CA).
- Professional Development: Desire to continually learn and develop in the structural engineering field.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Competence: Competent in all key responsibilities of a Structural Designer.
