Role Overview
- Perform structural design of various building projects, including the development of design documents, calculations, specifications, and construction administration.
- Design structural systems of cast-in-place and post-tensioned concrete, structural steel, masonry, and wood framing for a variety of health care, commercial, industrial, multi-family residential, mixed-use, and institutional buildings.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage structural design efforts for multiple projects while maintaining project budgets.
- Supervise and review structural engineering drawings, including the preparation of plans, schedules, and details.
- Evaluate structural systems of primarily cold-formed steel framing for various building types and review structural calculations for submission.
- Lead engineers and CAD/BIM technicians in producing shop drawings, calculations, and BIM models.
- Assist in training and mentoring team members.
- Communicate with clients and maintain project schedules and design budgets.
- Drive business development efforts for cold-formed projects to build and manage a client portfolio.
- Perform and lead the structural design of various building projects, including the development of structural design documents, calculations, and specifications.
- Conduct construction administration duties.
- Perform other assigned duties.

Skills and Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering from an accredited U.S. college or university.
- At least 8 years of professional experience in structural with a focus on cold formed steel
- Extensive knowledge of cold-formed steel design and strong familiarity with AISI standards.
- Ability to develop innovative solutions for complex problems.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to work well with others.
- Professional Engineer Licensure required, with Illinois Structural Engineer Licensure preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Proficiency in various structural analysis and design programs, including CFS Designer and RISA.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Relevant U.S.-based work experience
