Responsibilities
A leading engineering firm is seeking a Forensics Engineer/Project Manager to join their dynamic Diagnostics Group. The ideal candidate will have experience in acquiring Structural Diagnostics business, focusing on industrial or commercial structures, and must have project management experience.
The role involves technical production and management aspects of multiple projects, with an emphasis on restoration, repair, renovation, and forensic work. You will also support marketing, business development, and the growth of the Structural Engineering Division. Experience in restoration, rehabilitation, renovation, water infiltration, and building envelope issues is essential.
Role & Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site assessments of structures to evaluate their condition and identify restoration needs.
- Collect data through visual inspections, measurements, and non-destructive testing techniques.
- Collaborate with project teams to analyze structural components, materials, and their performance for restoration.
- Prepare accurate and concise reports summarizing assessment findings, analysis results, and recommended restoration solutions.
- Create visual aids such as diagrams, sketches, and photographs to support project documentation.
- Stay updated on industry best practices, codes, standards, and regulations relevant to structural engineering and restoration.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including architects and contractors, to provide technical expertise and support.
- Attend meetings with clients to understand project requirements and effectively communicate findings.
- Seek opportunities for professional development and technical skill enhancement through training and mentoring.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structures (Masters preferred)
- 7+ years of experience in structural repair and restoration
- P.E. license required
- Experience in litigation/forensics and relationships with attorney/insurance clients
- Strong technical, written, and verbal communication skills
- Excellent people management skills and customer service focus
