About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team in Chicago, Illinois. This position is ideal for an individual with a strong background in structural engineering, a passion for design, and a proven track record in client-facing roles. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of building projects across multiple sectors, including commercial, residential, educational, and industrial. Additionally, the role offers the potential to lead and mentor a team of engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and Analysis:
- Perform structural analysis and design for a wide range of building projects utilizing materials such as steel, concrete, wood, and masonry.
- Develop detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations.
- Ensure designs meet applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
Project Management:
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure successful project execution.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, contractors, and other consultants.
- Oversee quality control processes throughout the design and construction phases.
Client Engagement:
- Act as a primary point of contact for clients, understanding their goals and providing innovative engineering solutions.
- Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, and proposals to clients.
- Maintain and strengthen client relationships to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
Team Leadership:
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration.
- Lead project teams, ensuring high performance and effective communication.
- Contribute to team development by identifying training opportunities and encouraging professional growth.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- 7-10+ years of structural engineering experience, including client-facing roles.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required; SE license is a strong advantage.
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., Revit, RISA, SAP2000, ETABS, or similar).
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
- Experience working on a variety of building types and sectors.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
