Design, Retrofit, and Restoration Engineer

As a Design, Retrofit, and Restoration Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the safety, longevity, and functionality of both new and existing structures, using state-of-the-art design and assessment tools.
Responsibilities:
- Design and evaluate structural systems for new construction, additions, and renovations.
- Retrofit existing structures to meet the latest codes and standards.
- Conduct condition assessments of structures and provide detailed reports with repair and restoration recommendations.
- Collaborate with clients, architects, and contractors to develop designs that balance safety, functionality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable structural design codes and standards.
- Analyze the structural integrity of existing buildings and propose solutions for improvement.
- Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to create detailed structural designs and drawings.
Skills and Experience:
- In-depth understanding of structural engineering principles, including new construction, additions, and renovations.
- Experience in retrofitting and restoring existing structures to meet safety standards.
- Proficiency in structural design software (e.g., AutoCAD) and other computer-aided design tools.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate the condition of structures and develop solutions for restoration or retrofitting.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex engineering concepts to collaborators.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Engineer in Training (E.I.T) / Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in structural engineering (design, structural analysis, renovations, retrofits, etc).
- Interest in project management and organizational skills.
- Willingness to travel for site inspections and assessments as needed.
