We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Staff Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Berkeley, CA. This role focuses on geotechnical engineering for public works, commercial, water infrastructure, and transportation projects. Key Responsibilities:
Technical Expertise:
- Conduct geotechnical investigations, including soil sampling, testing, and analysis.
- Perform geotechnical analyses and design for foundations, retaining walls, slopes, and other structures.
- Prepare technical reports, calculations, and drawings.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
Project Involvement:
- Assist in the planning and execution of geotechnical projects for public works, commercial, water infrastructure, and transportation sectors.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to achieve project goals.
- Monitor project progress and provide technical support as needed.
Field Work:
- Conduct site visits and field investigations to collect data and assess site conditions.
- Supervise drilling and testing activities.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed during field operations.
Client Interaction:
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Provide technical support and recommendations to clients.
- Participate in meetings and presentations to discuss project details and progress.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in geotechnical engineering.
- Strong technical skills in geotechnical analysis, design, and field investigations.
- Familiarity with geotechnical software and tools.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
