Job Opportunity: Environmental Engineer or Geologist
Salary Range: $90,000 - $130,000
Location: Minneapolis, MN
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform environmental site assessments and remediation, including designing, operating, and maintaining systems.
- Install and sample monitoring wells, manage tasks, and prepare reports and permits.
- Assist in creating environmental investigation work plans, reports, and feasibility studies.
- Manage safety, project, and task duties on environmental projects.
- Solicit and contract subcontractors, schedule, and oversee field activities involving staff and subcontractors.
- Conduct subsurface soil and groundwater sampling, air and vapor monitoring, monitoring well installation, and soil logging.
- Assist in designing, installing, and operating remediation systems, including in-situ remedies, cover systems, recovery, and treatment.
- Collaborate with project teams to complete and review projects within scope, budget, and schedule.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Engineering, or a related field from an accredited program.
- Minimum of 3-4 years of related professional experience (7 years preferred) in environmental investigations and remedial actions.
- Demonstrated experience in environmental field monitoring activities, including soil and groundwater sampling, soil boring logging, monitoring well installation, and hydrogeologic investigations.
- Experience supporting remedial actions, including emergency response, excavation oversight, in-situ treatments, waste management, and restoration.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in data analysis, technical report writing, and summarizing results.
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training (and annual updates) required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities.
- Previous consulting experience is a plus.
- Experience with emerging contaminants of concern, including PFAS and PFOA, and investigating coal combustion residuals (CCR) is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in navigating regulations and working knowledge of State and/or Federal regulations in the upper Midwest.
- Ability to travel and work in the field up to 30%, as required.
