We are seeking an experienced Technology Designer to assist with project planning, provide complete design solutions, and oversee the QA/QC process for Low-Voltage/Signal - Technology systems from construction through installation. This role involves the design and implementation of IT/Telecom infrastructure and communications cabling, including:
- Outside plant cabling and horizontal cabling
- Wireless networking
- Low voltage systems (paging, emergency phones, clock systems)
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct technical requirements analysis, including site assessments, solution recommendations, construction administration, and project oversight.
- Manage designs based on the master planning of the client's organization and ensure smooth execution during bid negotiations, construction, and systems installation.
- Develop detailed scope of work documents and pricing estimates based on client requirements.
- Design and oversee technology systems to meet project needs while ensuring compliance with relevant codes, ANSI standards, and industry best practices.
- Provide quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) oversight for ongoing projects, coordinating with contractors and implementation teams to ensure successful project execution.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of technical and project management experience involving telecommunications cable infrastructure.
- Engineering design experience with telecommunications systems for building and campus facilities.
- Strong understanding of construction documents, including drawings and CSI format specifications.
- Proficiency in low voltage/signal design, conduit sizing calculations, and pulling tension.
- Working knowledge of audio-visual and security systems.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam is required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience managing project designs and overseeing construction is a plus.
Education & Certification:
- RCDD Certification or equivalent required.
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent technical design and installation experience in infrastructure supporting technology solutions.
