Our client is a leading private equity fund management firm that has launched their own IPP/developer extension and is actively continuing to build out their US based team. Our client is currently acquiring, developing, financing, and building projects across the country - assets include utility-scale solar & battery energy storage.
The company is looking for a highly skilled & self-starting individual to join as one of their key engineering hires. This is an exciting opportunity if you're looking to take more ownership on projects, ready to move from a larger firm to a smaller one with more flexibility in structure, scope of projects and responsibility.
The ideal candidate will have an electrical engineering background and will bring experience through full life cycle of projects post COD. In this role, you will be supporting utility-scale solar & battery energy storage projects while working with various key stakeholders across the business including external consultant management.
This is a full-time direct hire and opportunity to sit 100% remote - current organization is mostly scattered remotely across the US in various time zones & regions. If interested in being near the HQ, location can be shared upon inquiry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide oversight & review of engineering designs, standards, coordination, development support.
- Serve as POC and manage third party engineering services including EPCs and consultancies.
- Participate in meetings related to evaluating & selecting equipment suppliers, EPCs, engineering firms.
- Support decision makers in preparation & negotiations of equipment procurement, sales, and contract agreement.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 5-10+ years of engineering experience coming from another engineering firm, EPC/OEM, owner/operator, or developer. Minimum of 4 years of US based employer experience post degree.
- Project experience related to HV substations, MV battery energy storage & solar PV collection circuits, commissioning exposure/support, etc.
- Required - all candidates must bring previous utility-scale renewable energy experience in either solar or energy storage - both is a plus.
- Must be strong and interested in communicating with others.
- Four-year bachelor's degree in engineering, electrical engineering strongly preferred.
- PE License not required but a plus.
- Must be currently living in the United States.
Preferred & Added Bonus:
- Project experience in the Mid-West and/or Texas.
- Experience supporting BESS controls engineering.
- Experience with relay settings, high-voltage substations, SCADA familiarity, etc.
