Senior Drainage Engineer - Salt Lake City, UT
The successful candidate will coordinate project execution and control on civil transportation projects, ensuring continuity of purpose within scope, budget, and time schedules from initial start-up through final design.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct hydrology and hydraulic analyses for transportation, public site work, private site work, and flood control projects.
- Design drainage systems, including storm sewers, culverts, detention/water quality facilities, bridge deck drainage, river hydraulics, bridge hydraulics, and roadside ditches.
- Oversee the design team's efforts to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Create and review plans and details using AutoCAD/Microstation and/or Civil-3D/InRoads/Openroads.
- Develop erosion control and stormwater management plans.
- Write specifications, technical reports, and provide engineering support during construction.
- Act as the lead drainage technical liaison with clients on project efforts.
- Manage local drainage engineering staff.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Water Resources Engineering.
- At least 10 years of experience in drainage engineering.
- Proficiency with hydrologic and hydraulic computer programs such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, CUHP SWMM, and SRH-2D.
- Experience with local county and municipality projects.
- Licensed Professional Engineer in Utah.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or Water Resources Engineering.
- Experience with Utah Department of Transportation or Colorado Department of Transportation/City and County of Denver/UDFCD.
- Licensed Professional Engineer in Utah.
- Experience with 2D hydraulic modeling.
- Expertise in bridge scour revetment design.
- Knowledge of geomorphology.
