POSITION SUMMARY:
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead large-scale solar projects within our Utility Scale Division. The Senior Project Manager will oversee multi-million-dollar projects (50 MW+), ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and financial goals are achieved. This role involves being the main point of contact for clients and external stakeholders, while guiding internal teams to successful project completion.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Project Management: Oversee utility-scale solar projects from start to finish, ensuring project objectives are met and navigating complex challenges.
- Client & Stakeholder Relations: Serve as the primary liaison between clients, leadership, and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment of project goals.
- Financial Management: Create, manage, and monitor detailed project budgets to ensure financial performance. Conduct regular financial reviews and identify cost optimization opportunities.
- Scheduling: Develop and maintain project schedules, identify risks and delays, and take proactive steps to ensure timely completion of project milestones.
- Risk Management: Implement comprehensive risk management strategies to minimize challenges and maintain project progress.
- Contract Management: Ensure compliance with contract terms, working with internal teams and external partners to mitigate disputes and fulfill contractual obligations.
- Project Coordination: Supervise the coordination of design, permitting, procurement, and subcontractor management to ensure timely, budget-friendly, and high-quality project execution.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and effective delegation to meet project objectives. Promote a positive, results-oriented work environment.
- Safety & Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to safety and quality protocols on-site, in line with industry standards and company policies.
- Travel Requirements: Travel to project sites up to 50% of the time to provide hands-on project management and maintain client relationships.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience managing large-scale utility solar projects.
- Technical Expertise: Strong background in electrical, structural, and civil construction processes, with the ability to manage complex projects.
- Project Management Software: Proficiency with tools like Microsoft Project or Primavera P6; familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, and Sales force is a plus.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead teams, make decisions under pressure, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Contract Knowledge: In-depth understanding of construction contracts, project administration, and regulatory requirements, including interactions with utility and AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction).
- Safety Compliance: Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and regulations; OSHA 10 or 30 certification required.
- Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel up to 50% to project sites and meet with stakeholders.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certifications: PMP, CCM, or similar project management certifications.
- Technical Knowledge: Experience with high-voltage interconnections and utility grid integration.
- Negotiation Skills: Strong experience in contract negotiations, particularly in project management and conflict resolution.
- Process Optimization: Experience in implementing process improvements or lean construction techniques to enhance efficiency.
