We are seeking an experienced and motivated Professional Engineer with a strong background in Water/Wastewater to join the team in Marietta, GA. This full-time position requires an active PE license and offers the opportunity to lead the design and management of public infrastructure projects, primarily focused on water and wastewater systems. The ideal candidate will be both an independent problem-solver and a collaborative team player, eager to take on new growth opportunities with both new and existing clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Design & Management:
- Lead the design and management of water/wastewater infrastructure projects, ensuring they meet all technical specifications, budgets, and deadlines.
- Manage multiple projects and clients simultaneously, performing civil engineering design calculations and providing technical analyses.
- Coordinate with other engineers within the Civil Engineering Department, ensuring collaborative and efficient project execution.
- Provide mentorship and delegate tasks as needed to junior engineers or project staff.
- Monitor project financials, including budgeting and workload projections.
Technical & Regulatory Expertise:
- Review and ensure compliance with state and industry-specific codes, standards, and regulations.
- Lead efforts in utility and infrastructure design, including water distribution, booster stations, sewer collection systems, force mains, and lift stations.
- Develop technical specifications and assist with permitting and contracting requirements.
Project Coordination & Communication:
- Maintain strong communication with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams, ensuring smooth project delivery.
- Prepare proposals, reports, and presentations, and demonstrate the ability to adapt to the organisation's evolving needs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology (PE is required).
- 5+ years of experience in civil engineering, particularly in water resources, utility infrastructure, and wastewater systems.
- Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MS Office, and Adobe.
- Strong knowledge of water distribution modeling, booster station design, sewer collection design, and force main/lift station design.
- Experience with permitting, contracting, and technical specification writing.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Project management experience is highly preferred.
