Our client, a top 25 ENR-rated firm, is a leading engineering company specializing in water and wastewater infrastructure projects. They are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead and manage water/wastewater outside-the-fence conveyance design projects, oversee project execution, and support business development efforts. This role requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in water and wastewater conveyance systems, project management, business development, and a proven track record in fostering relationships with key stakeholders, including DC Water. This position is based in Washington DC.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the design of outside-the-fence water and wastewater conveyance systems, including pipelines, pump stations, and related infrastructure.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of multiple projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with key clients, especially DC Water, ensuring alignment with their objectives and fostering future opportunities.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to develop engineering solutions that meet regulatory requirements and client needs.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, helping to develop talent within the team.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including those specific to Virginia and DC Water's standards.
- Prepare technical proposals and presentations to support business development and secure new projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering (or a related field).
- 12-20 years of experience in water/wastewater engineering, with a focus on outside-the-fence conveyance design and project management.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in DC required.
- Extensive experience managing and delivering complex water/wastewater projects, with a strong understanding of conveyance systems.
- Proven business development experience, including a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with DC Water and other key stakeholders in the region.
- Strong knowledge of local Virginia regulations and standards related to water and wastewater systems.
- Proficiency in relevant software, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and hydraulic modeling tools
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
