Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer
Location: Glenwood Springs, CO
Salary: $100,000 - $140,000
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer to lead and manage complex water and wastewater projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, a proven track record of successful project delivery, and the ability to mentor and guide junior engineers. This role involves overseeing the design, development, and implementation of water and wastewater treatment systems, pipelines, pumping stations, and related infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, design, and execution of water and wastewater projects from concept to completion.
- Develop detailed engineering designs, including process modeling, hydraulic analysis, and system layouts.
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, and construction documents.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure timely and within-budget project delivery.
- Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with all applicable standards and regulations.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor project progress and ensure quality control.
- Review and approve engineering designs, calculations, and documentation.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in water and wastewater engineering.
- Participate in business development activities, including proposal writing and client presentations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in water and wastewater engineering, with a focus on design and project management.
- Strong knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes, hydraulics, and infrastructure design.
- Proficient in relevant engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively in a team environment.
- Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations related to water and wastewater systems.
